Dermaplaning FAQs

How is this Dermaplaning performed?

By holding the skin taut, a sterile 10 gauge blade is stroked across the skin at a 45 degree angle exfoliating dry skin cells and vellus hair.

Is Dermaplaning safe?

This treatment is extremely safe when performed by an experienced Medical Aesthetician. It is comparable to a man shaving his face.

Will the vellus hair grow back thicker after Dermaplaning?

No. It is physiologically impossible for vellus hair, also known as peach-fuzz, to grow back thicker. Vellus hair when cut or removed will grow back the same as the structure of the hair does not become damaged, it is unchanged.

Can Dermaplaning be performed with Chemical Peels or Photofacial?

Absolutely, it is often recommended.

How often can this procedure be performed?

Monthly. Dermaplaning removes 21 days worth of dead skin cells. It is best to allow the skin to complete its rejuvenation cycle before your next Dermaplaning treatment.
