What is Restylane Austin?

Restylane is a safe and natural dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds. It is a derivative of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body. The clear gel formulation is injected underneath or into the skin to restore volume or alleviate the appearance of moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. Highly bio-compatible, adverse reactions to Restylane are minimal, making it an ideal choice for our patients. It acts similar to the body’s naturally occurring hyaluronic acid, instantly hydrating the treated areas to visibly smooth out facial folds, nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the patient’s mouth, and/or marionette lines while adding definition and fullness to other areas of the face.

How is Restylane administered?

Prior to treatment, the areas to be administered with Restylane can be numbed using a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort. Small amounts are injected into defined area and distributed evenly using very gentle pressure. It is often used to treat the deeper wrinkles around the patient’s mouth (the nasolabial folds), the corners of the mouth, and the marionette lines or add volume to the midface area and lips. Each session takes about 45 minutes to complete depending on the extent of correction to be done.

How long will the results from Restylane Austin last?

The results from Restylane can be seen immediately following the procedure and can last for 9 months – 12 months depending on the formulation and area treated. The outcome can vary from patient to patient.

What are the side effects of Restylane?

The typical side effects of include redness, swelling, itchiness and bruising at the injection sites. Improvement is expected within 7 days from the procedure.
