If you are a client of mine and I have not talked to you about Venus Versa shame on me! If I have talked to you about Venus I may have totally confused you. Sorry. It really didn’t dawn on me that it was confusing until I was talking to a friend/client who writes about beauty and she could not keep it straight (and yes she has written about Venus)! So I am declaring today is “Venus Decluttering Day”.
WARNING: there are many facets to the Venus product line. If you look at the Venus Concept website it may unnecessarily clutter your space. Just stick with me.
I am only going to talk to you about the Venus VERSA. Sounds simple? Not so fast! Venus Versa is a complex workstation that “powers” three distinct technologies. The magic comes from attachments that convert the Venus Versa power into three technologies that deliver different results. Here is where the confusion comes in…each technology may or may not have a separately marketed name and I may or may not have used these names. Ugh!
Ok – are you ready to clean up this mess? Hopefully my chart will help you start to see things more clearly.

As I said before, Venus VERSA is a workstation with three distinct technologies Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), Radio Frequency (RF), Multi-Polar RF / Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field (MP2).
Venus VERSA IPL is always referred to as IPL in my book. It is used for photorejuvenation (brown spots), hair removal and acne treatments. On a side note: Photofacial, a term most clients are familiar with, is a generic term for any light-based therapy used to improve the appearance of skin. IPL is a specific type of technology used in light-based therapy.
When I talk about RF technology I always use the name VIVA. VIVA is a highly effective skin resurfacing technology that corrects signs of skin damage and improves the appearance of acne scars and other scars, stretch marks, rosacea, enlarged pores, deep wrinkles, and uneven skin texture and pigmentation. The results are similar to CO2 laser resurfacing without the pain or downtime!
Honestly, I am not sure but I think I may use a couple of different names to describe MP2 technology. I may say FREEZE, but generally I talk in terms of its uses; skin tightening, body contouring and cellulite reduction. Venus FREEZE boosts collagen production by heating the deeper layer of tissue under the skin. And, collagen helps to firm and smooth the skin.
